We’ll return next week to Commandment #7 (“Keep track of past clients throughout their careers.”)  But the big news of the day is that our third (and last) book has just rolled off the presses.  The book is entitled, “Clients Do Dumb Stuff Too”. As you will see by the cover, we think it’s the last piece of the puzzle – at the very least it completes pretty much all we know and have learned about the subject of client retention.

Our first two books (“What Your Clients Won’t Tell You and Your Managers Don’t Know”  – 1995 and “Why Good Clients Fire Great Companies” – 2002) have sold well north of 200,000 copies, (http://clientretention.com/the-books/).  They were written to introduce the Clients for Life® Client Retention Process and to help client relationship managers understand and embrace best practices in satisfying and retaining their clients.

“Clients Do Dumb Stuff Too” is different – refreshingly so, we believe.  It’s written for your clients, the consumers of your services, to help them be better clients.  It’s a dose of tough love, if you will (so be thoughtful about how and when you use it).

The book provides an inside seat to a candid conversation among a group of retired executives, from both sides of the desk, reflecting on their outsourcing experiences.  It gives that rare glimpse of knowledge and wisdom undergirded by years of experience and responds to the plaintive wish we’ve all wished, “If I knew then what I know now!”  Here’s your chance.  (And, in plenty of time for Christmas, if you were wondering what to give that “special” client.)
